Uber Eats: Drones are set to penetrate the Food Delivery Industry

Uber eat drone is the first commercial application of drone food delivery technology in the urban settings. Uber eat is going to be big thing in the upcoming future. As restaurants are becoming more crowded due to growing urban population throughout the world, the drone food delivery is more convenient and fast. Better development in drone navigation technology can really change the food delivery system and transportation cost will be lowered. So the first test of this technology is conducted last year in close environment at small distances. They actually did to demonstrate that how to start an order originating through an Uber eats app, its acceptance and delivery of food in special design, packaging and that package is attached at the bottom of drone, just like bird carrying the food in the claws and it flies to the destination and drop off package at location. Delivering in urban setting is extremely hard because of dense populations at close proximities.

Uber made a few initial test deliveries last month from McDonalds to the campus of San Diego state University using an off the shelf drone. Company generated drone customized for food delivery. The test program being held San Diego under federal US integration pilot program launched in 2018 in ten major locations around the US to work into local airspace and won certification as air carrier. Uber eat has ability to generate at least $1 billion revenue on deliveries of $10 billion food worldwide.

This could reduce the transportation and labor cost to a great extent. On the other hand, it will also have a huge impact on the people’s lives that are associated with food delivery as mean of their income. Although, this technology has the capacity to bring food to your table In just a matter of minutes.
